Salfah Charitable Organisation is a not for profit organisation based in Uganda and was established to implement the teachings as per the guidance of Qur’an and Sunnah. The belief and practice of Salfah is that of the Ahlus-Sunnah wa’l-Jama’at (those that adhere to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad).
Our major aim is to spread the correct knowledge of the Religion and supporting it with evidence – teaching Muslims and non-Muslims about Islam. The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) made a statement which means: “The best of the deeds is the belief in Allah and His Messenger.” (Narrated by Bukhar). In accordance to this, we emphasize teaching Tawheed by which one will know what is and what is not proper to attribute to Allah and His Messenger.
As an independent humanitarian and development organisation, we strive to make the world a better and fair place to the 3 Billion people still living in poverty. This is through urging Muslims to help each other and share responsibilities such as, encouraging the wealthy to console and relieve the poor – whether Muslims or non-Muslims, provision of basic needs to the hungry, needy and orphans as well as correcting oneself, ones family and the community in accordance with Islam. Bill Clinton once said about American society: “Our problems are beyond government reach, they are rooted in the loss of values.” Islam provides the values if implemented can solve societal problems many nations are facing today.
Salfah was established with a mission of strengthening Muslim marriages, families and relationships through proper Islamic education of one of the Divine Institutions of Allah, which is Marriage and Family. Our desire is to please Allah (SWT) by guiding Muslims and those who have sincere intentions to understand, observe and apply what Allah requires of them in all areas of marriage, family and relationships.
Salfah does not promote any particular Imam, Shaykh, School of thought or masjid but is organised strictly to please Allah (SWT) by helping to strengthen the Ummah through utilizing the guidance of Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)
